It’s a clear case of ‘Teen Deviyaan’ and a ‘Boodha’. Well, we are talking about the film that stars Amitabh Bachchan and Sonu Sood, which goes by the name of Boodha.
And the ‘Teen Deviyaan’ signed for the film are Minissha Lamba, Neha Sharma (of Crook fame) and Sonal Chauhan. If that wasn’t enough, the film already has the mega stars Hema Malini and Raveena Tandon! With the ensemble cast of the above, we are sure that Amitabh and Sonu will surely be spoilt for choices!

After PATIALA HOUSE last Friday, 7 KHOON MAAF opened to a thanda response across the country this morning. The business was shockingly low at single screens [8% to 10%], but slightly better at multiplexes [15% to 20%]. In fact, the industry was hopeful that 7 KHOON MAAF would garner 50% to 60% start at plexes due to three factors: [i] The song ‘Darling’ has become extremely popular, [ii] The terrific pre-release promotions and [iii] The credibility of Vishal Bhardwaj and Priyanka Chopra. But the poor figures, even at plexes, came as a shocker.
The audience feedback seems mixed, in fact completely in sync with what this writer wrote in the review ["the film will meet with diverse reactions - some will fancy it, while some will abhor it."]. It remains to be seen if the film is able to withstand the tough opposition posed by the World Cup cricket matches, which commence non-stop from tomorrow [Saturday] onwards.
Post the Imran- Avantika wedding earlier this year, if there is one other couple whose wedding plans have been making news its Lara Dutta and Mahesh Bhupathi. The couple, who announced quite a while back that they would be getting married this Feb, have finally tied the knot.
The couple registered their marriage earlier today. It was private affair attended only by Mahesh and Lara’s family at the groom’s Bandra residence. Talking about their marriage, Mahesh tweeted, “Meet Mr and Mrs Bhupathi folks!”
The couple leaves for Goa tonight to have their church wedding on the 19th. The Sangeet is on February 18 at Club Fresh, a beach resort in Candolim beach.

Pakistani singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, who was detained by the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) at the Delhi Airport on Sunday for allegedly carrying $1.24 lakh in undeclared cash, has now been released. The singer along with his manager Maroof and event manager Chitresh Shrivastava were questioned for several hours on Monday before being released. Besides the amount of $1.24 lakh, the I.T. officials who raided Rahat’s event manager Chitresh’s properties in Mumbai found $ 2 lakh. The officials are still probing the source of such huge amounts of money.
Meanwhile even though Rahat and his troupe members have been released, the trio’s passports have been withheld and the DRI has asked them to appear for further questioning on Thursday.
Apparently, it is believed that The Pakistani High Commission in New Delhi set up a special team to liaise with the Department of Revenue Intelligence, which had detained Rahat.
One of Hindi films most versatile actress of recent times, Divya Dutta, will be seen in the upcoming film, MASTI EXPRESS. Knowing Divya, who has always tried to go in for different roles in meaningful films like VEER ZAARA, THE LAST LEAR, WELCOME TO SAJJANPUR and MORNING WALK to name a few, one was curious to know the reason for doing a new director’s film, so we decided to get it directly from her.
The actress had some concrete reasons and told us, “The way Pradhan related the script, it was quite interesting and usually newcomers do things with a lot of passion as they have a point to prove. I am not saying that established and veteran filmmakers don’t make good films but still. And then I wanted to work with talented actors like Rajpal Yadav and Johny Lever. I am happy that MASTI EXPRESS has turned out to be a sweet little film with a lot of heart.”
Well, those are some solid reasons for checking out the Vikram Pradhan directed MASTI EXPRESS!
Mondays are crucial; you get to know which way the film is proceeding – Northwards or Southwards. PATIALA HOUSE, which had a slow start on Friday, but picked up well on Saturday and also on Sunday, maintained steady collections on Monday. The film collected approx. Rs. 2.75 cr on the fourth day, taking the 4-day total to approx. Rs. 18 cr nett. It may be recalled that Akshay Kumar starrers have, in the past, done Rs. 22 cr to Rs. 25 cr nett business in their opening weekend. Keeping that in mind, the 4-day total of PATIALA HOUSE may seem low, but the fact remains that the film is holding well.
PATIALA HOUSE is not only faring well in North India [Delhi-U.P., Punjab], but is maintaining a steady run in Mumbai circuit as well. The Mumbai circuit figures are as follows:- Fri 1.60 cr, Sat 1.80 cr, Sun 2.40 cr and Mon 1.28 cr.
