In the long tenure of her filmy career, Kareena Kapoor has performed all sorts of scenes. She has acted according to her director’s demand and never left any room for complaint. If we remember, she has shared some intimate scene with her boyfriend Saif Ali Khan in ‘Kurbaan’ but now the sexy actress has refused to perform intimate scene for Madhur Bhandarkar’s ‘Heroine’. Kareena is not happy with the love making scenes.
After breaking up with Deepika Padukone, the Kapoor scion Ranbir Kapoor has been linked up with almost every co-star of his films
he acted thereafter. But now Ranbir is playing safe and made sure that he keeps himself away from any such false rumor. He is determined that he will not allow media to cook any false link-up stories with his ‘Rockstar’ actress Nargis Fakhri. Ranbir Kapoor clearly and loudly declared that there is no girl in his life right now.
Salman Khan’s sister Alvira is soon gonna make an announcement of her new film, Bodyguard, which will be produced by her and directed by husband Atul Agnihotri. Alvira has decided to rope in Asin as the main female lead on Salman’s request (according to the buzz).
The film, of course, stars Sallu in the lead. He plays the role of a college student. The flick is the remake of a popular South Indian hit by the same name. The movie is also being made in Tamil as Kaavalan with actor Vijay playing Salman’s role and Asin again playing his love interest.
Movie apart, Alvira has also planned a fashion show under the aegis of Salman’s Being Human foundation. It is heard that, the show will almost every big name in Bollywood walking the ramp.
Wonder if Katrina will be a part of the ramp show but it will definitely be a show of strength for Salman, who will show off which stars are in his camp now.
By this time it is well known that Dharma Production’s latest offering We Are Family starring Kajol, Kareena Kapoor and Arjun Rampal is a Bollywood remake of Hollywood’s Stepmom that starred Susan Sarandon and Julia Roberts. It is also quite clear that the stars have claimed time and again that the film is not a replica of the Hollywood blockbuster.
Recently, Kareena Kapoor has taken it upon herself to claim that her role of the stepmom is far removed from the same role that was essayed by Julia Roberts. “There are no similarities whatsoever between Shreya, the character I play in We Are Family, and the role essayed by Julia Roberts in Stepmom. Of course, given the fact that We Are Family is an official adaptation of Stepmom, comparisons will be there but I have played this part the way I would have done it. In fact, besides the fact that both (the character played by Julia and Kareena) are career driven women there are no similarities,” Kareena stated during promotions of the film.
Now, it is already common knowledge that each actor plays each role different with new flavour and zest, but is that enough for Kareena to claim that her role is completely different than Julia’s? We will have to see to find out!
Producer Aamir Khan, director Anusha Rizvi and the cast of Peepli [Live] were recently honored with a request for a
special screening of the film by the Prime Minister of India Dr. Manmohan Singh. This was indeed an honor because Dr. Singh does not watch films on a regular basis and this was only the fourth film he has watched in 7 years.
To fulfill Dr. Singh’s wish Aamir Khan along with Ronnie Screwvala, Anusha Rizvi and Omkardas Manikpuri, who essays the role of Natha in the film and Raghubir Yadav, who plays Budhia in the film, went to Dr. Singh’s residence on Sunday, to show him the film. Dr. Singh saw the film with his family and few select guests.
Anusha Rizvi was very happy that the Prime Minister liked Peepli [Live], “It was very satisfying to hear the PM say that he liked the film and that it had a message which we must act on. He said it’s evident that there are two Indias in our country, and we must have a more inclusive approach. We felt very vindicated and humbled at his words.”
An ecstatic Aamir Khan said “It was an honor for us that our honorable Prime Minister Shri Manmohan Singh saw our film Peepli [Live]. His words of praise and encouragement for the film meant a lot to me.”
The film has opened to rave reviews in India and will release in the UK later this month.

Being a reviewer on Love Bollywood on the BBC Asian Network has always been heaps of fun. From film and soundtrack reviews to retro film-clubs, the show brings out the Bollywood passion in even the most anti-soul. Raj&Pablo bring to the show a fun, fresh and unmissable mix of music, gossip, news and comedy. When I was asked to participate in the Vivek Oberoi Fan Club on Sunday, I could hardly contain my excitement. I’ve been a fan of Oberoi’s since his debut in Company. I saw this as my chance to pay my very own tribute to the person behind the actor I admired so much and who is an inspiration for me.
From the time I entered the studio, to the time I left, it was evident that Vivek Oberoi was a true international star. With ardent fans from all over the globe getting in touch with the show to convey their feeling towards their favourite actor, it became increasingly obvious that Oberoi wasn’t just a much loved actor; he was a much-loved Twitter celebrity too.
With Raj&Pablo as hosts, there’s never a dull moment as they asked me what one thing about Oberoi I love the most… his smile. That cheeky yet gorgeous, handsome yet endearing smile is enough to light up even the dullest of rooms… and that’s way before VO’s personality even arrives! The duo then quizzed me by asking that I used one word to convey my thoughts about Prince Oberoi… My answer? Love! I am totally besotted by him after all….
With special words from a number of Oberoi fans, the fan club was becoming a very interesting one. Little did I know the secret that was up the producer’s sleeve? In the midst of the healthy discussion, we are informed that the man himself – yes, Mr Vivek Oberoi – has agreed to come live on the phone from Delhi to say a few words for his fans. From that moment onwards, it all seems like a blur… did someone say marriage proposal?!
Ok… so I’m exaggerating a little! Oberoi came live on air, “Hey guys, how you doing? Hi Amrita…” At this point, I was in heaven… well, that’s how it felt. As the boys spoke to Vivek about the show, I got the chance to say a big thank you for making his fans feel so special. Oberoi revealed that during his bad times, it was his fans that he looked to as his strength and that it was their love got him through the rough patch.
Pablo then asks the dreaded question, “Amrita, if there was one question you could ask Vivek right now, what would it be?” I was stuck… the only question that kept doing its rounds in my head was a marriage proposal… this could NOT be happening! As Pablo asked the Prince of Bollywood about his forthcoming marriage and his fiancé, I was trying my best to come up with a real question… one that I could actually ask! What was it? What did Vivek answer? Ahhh, you’ll have to listen in to find out!
I will be forever thankful to Love Bollywood and the BBC Asian Network for giving me a morning I will never ever forget! And a huge thank you to Vivek Oberoi for being so sporting and agreeing in the way he did for coming on to the show just for us fans… these are the things we all love and will continue loving about him.
New Delhi, Sep 4 : He is a veteran in acting and has even lent his voice to a few songs but there’s one thing that megastar Amitabh Bachchan is itching to do – learn how to play a musical instrument.
“Many a time in life I have wished to spend time and effort in getting down to learn just any one instrument but I am just not getting enough courage to get into it. It would perhaps take me another lifetime,” Amitabh posted on his blog www.bigb.bigadda.com.
The 67-year-old says if nothing else, he likes to randomly hit the keys of a piano at his house.
“And so, helpless, I retire to my own piano, gifted to me on my birthday by the family and start pushing some ‘blacks’ and ‘whites’ randomly. I try to look so very professional and well equipped. There is nothing of value that comes out but I do have to say that every note creates that much desired feel of… what can I say… fulfilment,” he added.
“I am single. But beyond that I don’t think I need to give too much of details,” Katrina said yesterday (August 24) at the Trident hotel in Mumbai, where she was named as the international brand ambassador of Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Talking about why she chose Etihad for endorsement, Katrina said, “I think you have to make that decision when you are choosing. And you have to choose something that you feel you would be comfortable talking about. Honestly there were twenty airlines but Etihad was the one which I knew a lot about. So I did not need too much convincing.
Physically you don’t have so many days on hand to give to your endorsements. But with Etihad it was such an honour as they are one of the leading international airlines. And I had never earlier heard of anyone being a brand ambassador of an international airline. So the very thought of it was so new to me. They are an ideal when it comes to standards of quality travel and the luxuries associated with an international flight. And also during the initial years of my career I did shoot a lot of movies in Dubai and a little in Abu Dhabi. I was pretty well informed about the brand and the services and during that time I flew with the airline a lot. So it was a very natural thing for me.”
But it was not her quotes about Etihad which created headlines, it was her declaration that she was single which created news. This is what she said, “I think all of you know the answer and I am going to give you the same answer that I have been giving you for the last few years. I have always believed that you are single until you are married. You may have a friendship but until you are married the relationship is always single. Beyond that you have known me for many years and you know my stand. It is hard enough to take decisions in your life, professionally sometimes, mostly personal. And whatever decisions that you take, if you have to make them in front of everyone whether it’s the media or the public or the world at large, I think it is a little more that what I can handle. This is why for the last six years I have never commented who I am with, if there is a break up or an argument. Whatever the situation may be, I have never commented in the open. So despite your curiosity, if you can just respect my feeling I would be really privileged. I have nothing more to say.
If Salman Khan has said that he is single and I have also said that I am single, then beyond that I don’t think it correct to comment anymore.”
With both Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif coming out in clear and direct terms, this is another Bollywood love story with a sour ending!!
Veteran star Rishi Kapoor has turned 58 years old today but debutante director Habib Faisal still finds him a hero material. The 
director has recently signed Rishi in his movie ‘Do Dooni Chaar’ and that too play the lead role.
The once ‘chocolate boy’ hero was also surprised when Faisal offered him the role. Elaborating on this, Rishi said that Fasial narrated him the script and then he asked him which role the director wanted him to play. At this question, Faisal replied that he wanted the veteran actor to essay the lead role of Santosh Duggal. Rishi was surprised to hear that and said why the director is taking risk by taking him in lead role as he is no more young and not a very saleable actor too. Faisal said that he wanted Rishi to play a 54-year-old teacher and suggested his real life wife Neetu Singh to play his reel wife too.
Rishi informed that his wife Neetu does not work in films anymore so the director approached Juhi Chawla but things did not work out. Then Rishi spoke to his wife, who was not very keen to act again even when he said that she looked lovely in the movie ‘Love Aaj Kal’. However, later she agreed after hearing the scrip from the director. Rishi said that she agreed only for the script.
Walt Disney Pictures will be starting their journey to Bollywood with ‘Do Dooni Chaar’ and this fact also makes Rishi proud.

The sequel of Krrish will have the super star Hrithik Roshan playing a double role.
It may be remembered that Hrithik had played a father and son roles in ‘Koi Mil Gaya’. Now, according to a newspaper, the actor is all
set to play the roles of a hero and villain in the sequel of Krrish.
At present, the film’s scriptwriter Robin Bhatt denies the rumors telling, “How can Hrithik play three roles in the same film?
“We are carrying forward the father-son legacy of Krrish into Krrish 2. The negative role will be essayed by a very big star.”
However a source disclosed, “Both may be clones of each other. This would give the film a very interesting dimension and will take it to the next level.”
Well, only coming days will tell us what to believe and what not to.
