Rakesh Roshan’s Hrithik Roshan, Priyanka Chopra, Chitrangada Singh and Vivek Oberoi starrer KRRISH sequel seems to be a grosser even before it is ready.
Besides the fact that Rakesh Roshan has sold the film to multiple distributors as well as sold the channel rights, a little bird reveals that the music of the film, composed by Rajesh Roshan, has been acquired by T-series for Rs 6 crore.

AKSHAY KUMAR takes off for vacation
Akshay Kumar has been untraceable for more than a week now. Last heard, even some of his close friends and associates were unaware about his movements before it was revealed that the man has actually taken off for a 40 day family vacation. Accused of working in multiple back to back films, a move like this did surprise a few since Akshay currently has three films on floors and two waiting to kick-start post his arrival.
“After wrapping up major portions of Housefull 2 and Joker and almost finishing Desi Boyz, Akshay is now enjoying his summer break. He does that every year”, informs a little birdie, “Before his newer lot of films like Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai 2 and Rowdy Rathore go on floors, he wants to come back rejuvenated.”
Last heard, he has already made a whirlwind trip to Frankfurt and Toronto which he treats like his other home outside Mumbai. While accompanied by wife Twinkle and son Aarav, he also paid a four days visit to Rome. Though he was in Mumbai for a couple of days in between for a quick detour, he then headed to Beijing for next leg of his holiday.
“Though Akshay is being dubbed as someone who works 24X7, the fact is that this is far from being true. He actually makes it a point to spend time with his family for an uninterrupted extended duration. He also makes sure that there are no business calls or meetings during these 40 days”, says a close family friend, “In fact he is a firm believer of this thought that the best education comes from visiting places instead of just flipping through pages of text books. This is the reason why he encourages his son to be an outdoors person.”
Guess some kids have all the luck. Now with his doting dad opening the global map right in front of him, Aarav has already pointed in the direction of Hong Kong and other cities located in the Far East countries.
“Yes, Akshay’s family would be heading from Beijing to Hong Kong and then perhaps hop over to a couple of other cities as well before returning to India. The final stop-over would be at Goa where Akshay has his own private property at the Anjuna beach. Once everyone is relaxed, it would be back to work for Akshay”, the friend informs.

Balaji’s forthcoming THE DIRTY PICTURE.
Director Milan Luthria recently ordered two truckloads of oranges for a sensational song sequence in Balaji’s forthcoming THE DIRTY PICTURE.The track was picturised on Vidya Balan and Naseeruddin Shah and shot at Hyderabad’s Ramoji Film City.
In true South style, over a thousand oranges were rolled down a hillside as the actors danced to choreographer Pony Verma’s matkas and jhatkas – reminiscent of the erstwhile Jeetendra-starrer HIMMATWALA!
Salman khan & Himesh break up
While the media may be agog with the famous Salman Khan and Himesh Reshammiya break-up and patch-up stories, Salman denies of any break-up with the musician-cum-actor Himesh Reshammiya.
The question was raised again considering the fact that Himesh Reshammiya has composed the music for upcoming film BODYGUARD starring Salman Khan.
At a recent event Salman opened up on Himesh and clearly said, “When did we break up?”
Deepika back as glamorous diva
Deepika Padukone has had enough of playing non-glam part in a series of films. So when Prakash Jha, Ashutosh Gowariker and Pradeep Sarkar asked her to turn plain Jane for their respective films, Deepika didn’t protest and willingly stepped into plain suit-salwars, sarees and T-shirts respectively while also keeping her make-up minimal. Even in BREAK KE BAAD which was set in Mauritius, director Danish Aslam wanted her to play the girl next door which means designer outfits were out of question.
However none of that would be the case in DESI BOYZ where Deepika would be back at being her glamorous best. After consciously staying away from that make-up kit for her AARAKSHAN, KHELEIN HUM JEE JAAN SEY and LAFANGEY PARINDEY, Deepika has sent an SOS to her styling team and made sure that she comes across as an ultra glam personality in her winter release DESI BOYZ.
“Deepika is doing everything possible to stand out in the Akshay Kumar and John Abraham starrer,” her friend continues, “Since the film is set in London, Deepika doesn’t want to look out of place. Also, the film belongs to a genre that is quintessentially commercial and cool on eyes. During the shooting of her film, she summoned her stylist, costume designer, make-up staff and hair dressers to give her an ultra glam look. She also hit the gym hard to look in best shape and make heads turn. She knows that before this year comes to close; DESI BOYZ is one film that would present her in an altogether different light.”

Sonam n her upcoming Movie ‘MAUSAM’
Sonam Kapoor is hogging all attention once again. And once again it is for the same reasons- Sonam’s foot-in-mouth syndrome.
As her upcoming film MAUSAM is catching up on its promotional campaign, it is learnt that the filmmakers are concerned about Sonam’s talent of revealing too much too soon about the film and its little incidents. So, a strategy has been put in place that involves giving the actress some strict briefing before she meets the press.
Shahid-Priyanka will b a musical n rocking
Though their last film together, KAMINEY, had boasted of some good music, it wasn’t a quintessential romantic Bollywood soundtrack. However for their next outing, director Kunal Kohli is making sure that the music turns out to be the kind which gives audience what they expect out from an out and out musical.
Says Wajid, of Sajid-Wajid duo which has been entrusted the responsibility of composing for this yet untitled version, “Someone like Kunal Kohli has been our favorite director of mine. We have loved his films and always wanted to create some music for one of his future outings. Since this one has Shahid and Priyanka in the lead and also spans across three eras, it is all the more challenging. We are happy with the way music of this film has shaped up so far.”
Post DABANGG, Sajid-Wajid had taken a break and though they don’t have too many films releasing this year, they promise that 2012 would be theirs.![]()
“I would say that ‘allah’ has been kind and it was about time that we got all the recognition that we deserved,” adds Sajid, “I have always believed in the saying that Waqt se pehle aur kismat se zyada na mila hai aur na milega. One has to wait for his turn and we did that as well. What we never lost was belief in ourselves. Also, we knew where we were heading and worked with the right people and on right projects. Kunal is one such filmmaker. We are having fun composing for his film.”
Meanwhile there are top filmmakers vying for their attention. “The kind of banners that we are working together is fantastic. It doesn’t happen every year that one sits with someone like a Bhansali and discusses music,” says Wajid, “It couldn’t have been better. Challenge now is to deliver.”
